Black Orient Pendant Lamp By Jo Hammerborg For Fritz Hansen, 2013
$570
The Orient Pendant Lamp was designed in 1963 by Jo Hammerborg for Fog Mørup and relaunched in 2013 by Fritz Hansen in collaboration with the Hammerborg family. Fog & Mørup produced Orient pendants in two different sizes. This version is thr minor and is made from black lacquered aluminum, painted white on the inside to maximize the light. The lamp has a wooden top, which carries the curve of the teardrop-shaped pendant right up to the tip of the lamp. The lampshade also features several narrow gaps that allow streaks of light to seep out. The shape of the shade hides the lightbulb and prevents glare. The combination of the rounded shape of the shade gives a warm and comfortable glow that looks good in many rooms. Orient has become a true design classic over the years and is equally suitable for hanging alone or in group settings.
