Creator Jose Maria Reina’s background in furniture and jewelry design directly informs the balanced decorative and functional qualities of this piece. The circular backplate serves as the clock’s abstracted face. Crafted from steel, the backplate also visually brings forward the elegant surface quality of the time-telling needles. These pointy shapes layer atop each other in a sculptural way. The pointy needles suggest the time without overwhelming with numbers.
