Chatsworth Tulipiere Large 40"
$5,525
Gracious Style
This magnificent piece of blue and white pottery is a reproduction of a late 17th century original from the collection at Chatsworth Castle in England. Tulipieres, or tulip pagodas, were devised by the Dutch to display their prized tulips or other flowers at a time when a single bulb could cost the equivalent of many thousands of dollars. A favorite with brides, Mottahedeh specializes in luxurious patterns and unique, elegant shapes that are reproduced from china found in museums and historical societies. The patterns feature complex and vibrant colors, and hand-painted gold decoration. The pieces are surprisingly fresh and timely, and look wonderful in both contemporary and traditional dining rooms.
