In the early 1940s, Charles and Ray Eames embarked on a series of experiments to perfect their plywood-molding techniques. Their curiosity resulted in them creating two biomorphic forms inspired by Ray's graphic art which they later suspended from the ceiling in their Los Angeles apartment.
