This ingenious design for children is from German (DDR) designers Hans Brockhage and Erwin Andra made in the early 1950'sHans Brockhage (1925-2009) was wounded in WWII and started a study as sculptor in 1945 in Dresden were he got educated by important Dutch designer Mart Stam Erwin Andrä (1921) started as a model builder and was also educated in Dresden where he became a teacher after WWIIIn the 1960's he became director at the institute for toys Sonneberg and later rector at the school for industrial designThe Schaukelwagen is fine example of how 3 designers with each their own perspectives worked together in the DDR resulting in this design classic for kids
