Herend Hungarian Porcelain Model Of A Dog And A Rabbit On Leaf

Two delightful vintage Hungarian porcelain cabinet collector pieces comprising of a seated terrier dog and a rabbit on a leaf both made by Herend and dating from the 20th century. Both small figures are well made with the terrier seated and holding its head up. It has molded features and is decorated in mottled grey glazes with lighter colors applied to the ears and simple painted shadow detail to the eyes and mouth. The rabbit sits on a small twig with three large leaves, one raised above the rabbit. The twig is painted in brown with detailed molding to the leaves which are painted in green. The small novelty style rabbit sits crouched with semi raised ears and eye and mouth features and is decorated with small pink dots on a white ground with similarly painted eyes and painted mouth with gilded highlights to both inner ears. Both figures have makers marks along with various numbers to the bases.Provenance: Acquired from the British Art Market.In good condition with light wear associated with age and use.
