The Kinfolk magazine issue 55, The Faith Issue, explores the role of religion across different cultures and communities. In Denmark, the magazine follows the construction of a new Lutheran church and invites the country’s leading architects and designers to imagine the future of sacred spaces, while theologian Ekemini Uwan’s interview sheds light on Christianity’s troubled racial history. From the Jewish community, the issue features the founders of Fleishigs, a kosher-themed food and travel magazine, as well as Miknaf Ha’aretz, a collective focused on land justice. Muslim-American identity is examined through the comedy of actor, writer, and director Ramy Youssef. The issue also features an interview with the late surrealist director David Lynch, who spoke about his personal relationship with faith and his lifelong commitment to daily meditation. Founded in Portland in 2011 and currently headquartered in Copenhagen, Kinfolk is an independent lifestyle magazine whose esthetics and mentality of slow living have gained worldwide success. Issue 55 was published in spring 2025, it is perfect bound and has 192 pages.
