Love In Bloom Kintsugi

A broken heart, mended with love, can bloom with more beauty and strength than before. Using this concept to create a ubiquitous object is not easy, but Italian designer Marcantonio Raimondi Malerba does it effortlessly. Created for the Seletti collection, the Love in Bloom Kintsugi vase brings together Malerba’s two most popular designs in one. The vase has an anatomically correct shape but boasts the gold lines typical of the traditional Kintsugi technique. Broken porcelain pieces are carefully pieced together again with real gold, their new form highlighting the idea that imperfections are beautiful and a mark of an item’s history. Here, the concept becomes even more meaningful and moving, as the Love in Bloom Kintsugi porcelain heart carries flowers in bloom. Made from fine porcelain, the vase features real 24K gold lines. As every product is handcrafted, each vase is one of a kind and may feature subtle variations.
