The layered series is the work of stacking materials to make them a basic unit and developing various forms and functions by combining them. Layered wood is as part of the Layered series, a grey-blue finish highlights the alchemic process that produces a natural tannic acid reaction in the red oak wood. The Layered Series is the main concept of Hwang's work. He focuses on experimentation layering materials we can easily find around us to form architectural compositions. This series starts from his childhood memory of an incessantly transforming city full of geometric architecture. Designed by Hyungshin Hwang in Seoul, South Korea.
