Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior (1982)

The first sequel to Mad Max takes place after nuclear war has destroyed Australia. Max helps a colony of oil-drilling survivors defend themselves from the roving murderous outback gangs and escape to the coast. The climactic chase scene is among the most exciting ever filmed; this film virtually created the action-adventure picture of the 1980s.
