The Mooda Mirror is composed of a set of dowels stitched together to create a beautiful geometric edge around the glass. The mirror in turn reflects the dowels along its circumference, completing the traditional form of the Mooda. Available in two American hardwoods, three standard sizes and a range of finishes, they are perfect for powder rooms, hallways or above a mantle. The Mooda Collection reimagines a traditional furniture building technique used for centuries across India into contemporary objects. Sticks of cane, bamboo or grass are stitched together with rope to create structural forms used as stools, chairs or tables. Every region has its own distinct style and variation of technique based on the materials available, making these stools both ubiquitous and individual in their origin. Learning this technique that has been passed down through generations, the Mooda Collection explores ways in which this process and the resulting form can be used beyond seating to develop contemporary objects.
