The Roman Tableware collection designed by Raffaella Mangiarotti for Atipico draws its inspiration from Roman classicism, reinterpreted with traditional Italian materials and contemporary lightness.‎“Looking at catalogues on ancient Roman art, I was struck by a glass vessel with two loop handles that looked like it had been made recently in Murano, and instead was an ancient artifact.‎ It’s amazing how beauty can withstand the passage of time when it is the result of simplicity and elegance of proportion.‎ This gave me the idea of taking the ring as a main design element and making it structural, functional and decorative.‎”The ring consists of a single line that winds around itself and envelops borosilicate glass structures, resulting in ethereal objects, almost devoid of materiality.‎ The collection includes a vase, a pitcher and glass, and a candlestick in various heights.‎The collection stems from the Homi exhibition “La Magnifica Forma” (The Magnificent Shape), curated by Anna del Gatto, aimed at the production of classically-inspired design objects to be marketed in the shops of leading Italian museums.‎
