Tootsie (1982)

Stubborn, unemployed actor Michael Dorsey (Hoffman) disguises himself as a woman named Dorothy Michaels to secure a part on a soap opera. As his popularity on TV mounts, his love life becomes increasingly soap operatic. Hoffman is delightful, as is the rest of the stellar cast, especially Lange as the cast member he falls in love with. Debut of Davis; Murray's performance unbilled. Director Pollack plays Michael's put-upon agent, George Fields.
