1859 Botanical Seaweed Print 2

Henry Bradbury's 1859 botanical illustrations of seaweeds found in English waters were made by a "nature printing" process where each specimen is pressed into a plate of soft lead and an electrotype made from its impression. These are in essence direct reproductions of the plant – unfiltered nature without artistic interpretation. Our exacting reproductions capture the fine detail of the originals.
