Modern painter Rip Matteson also specialized in studies of female nudes, masterfully abbreviated line drawings that impart a fluidity of movement not possible in a finished painting. Minimalist in spirit with a sense of openness and freedom, the studies were originally drawn in ink, charcoal or pastel on paper.
