Antique, 17th century, Dutch carved oak armchair featuring inlay "Star of David." Description: Carved oak armchair with high rectangular backrest Intricately hand-carved rosettes, arches, and scroll work centered marquetry or inlay in the form of a Star of David on the back panel. Turned legs and stretcher base construction, with shaped arms and scalloped apron. Finish appears original with natural patina and signs of age. The design, was popular in synagogue furniture and Judaica of the period.
