18th century English walnut armchair of generous proportions circa 1760 We are pleased to present this local find and fine quality example of English furniture making. Made from solid walnut in the slightly earlier Queen Anne taste with its solid vasiform back rest and scrolling arms. Generous deep apron around the front and sides. Raised on cabriole front legs and a splayed back leg, all finished on a pad foot. Drop-in seat with later fabric but in good usable condition. Near original condition with just one old repair to the arm, which is photographed, and a replaced support for the drop-in seat. Expected surface marks from age and use.
