This pair of extraordinary Bergère chairs are likely from the early 1900s. The Bergère style chair originates in the 1700s in France, and these fine pieces typically featured upholstered backs, armrests and cushions. True to the period, these excellent pieces have an excellent patina with partial gilded features. The stunning neutral fabric is new. Bergère chairs, or "shepherdess chairs," further developed into various styles, such as Directoire, Louis XVI, Rococo, among other styles. These chairs share features of Louis XVI style. We are pleased to present these beautiful and stately chairs that are generous in size.
