A vintage Louis XV style armchair by the acclaimed Danby Company. This walnut and black leather chair features a serpentine crest rail with carved embellishments over an upholstered back panel joining padded armrests with scroll handholds. The Danby Company was once a very well known and reputable furniture manufacturer known for their Period English and French styles, with a showroom in NYC on East 47th Street. Manufactured circa 1970. This exquisitely built chair has been in our family since new. Structurally solid and sturdy. This piece has not been refinished, and shows age-appropriate scuffs and scratches consistent with normal wear. Minor surface wear to the wood finish and light wear to the upholstery, as expected for a vintage piece of this era. There is a small, 1" split in the seat cushion near the front edge (visible in the photos). Please review photos for condition details.
