This is the sweetest small French style fauteuil with a needlepoint seat depicting love birds on a tree and back showing a dapper gentleman holding something out for his lady (who was probably shown on the missing pair to this chair). The chair has lovely gold painted carved flowers on the crest and under the seat. The needlepoints are very worn and have missing spots especially on the seat but are wonderfully vintage & shabby. The wooden parts of the chair also show signs of age, use and love. This chair is diminutive in size being 32 inches high, 22 inches wide and 20 inches deep. The seat is 17 inches to the puffy seat which does compress, 14 inches wide and 15 deep. The arms are 7 1/2 inches from the seat abd the back height from the seat is 18 inches.
