Anglo Indian Carved Reclining Armchairs, A Pair

A pair of Anglo-Indian finely carved reclining armchairs circa 1800. The frames are teak, and elaborately carved with scrolling foliage throughout. Pierced sides carved with intertwined birds, figures and deities are set against a scrolling vine background, with carved elephants and figures on each leg. Seats and the reclining seat backs are caned. Originally from Burma.
