Antique early 19th century English Regency ebonized & caned arm chair circa 1810. This chair is an exceptional period example exhibiting extensive carving with spiral legs, hairy animal paw arms, lattice back and hand painted tablets and swags. Measures 34" tall x 21 1/4" wide across the front x 20" deep. The chair is solid but has loss of painted surface with white gesso showing through and the caning is torn and will need to be replaced. A rare opportunity to obtain a period chair in original state. These chairs originally had a 2" seat cushion sitting atop the caning.
