Absolutely stunning one-of-a-kind Sheraton style oval back chair with square tapering legs, which terminate on spade feet. The upholstered seat and back are recovered in hand stitched needlepoint Bargello flame stitch type pattern, in several shades of green, pale yellow, red, and black. It is finished around the edges with a red braided gimp trim. The oval backside of the chair back is upholstered in fine, rich red leather. The lines are very delicate, but this chair is sturdy. It likely had a cane back and seat originally, as typical with Sheraton style revival chairs of the period. Circa 1900. Measures: 18" w x 20" d x 38" h, seat height 20" h to the crown of the cushion
