Original Authentic Antique 18th Century Venetian Carved Wood And Gesso, Finished Hall Chair A stunning 18th century Venetian armchair sporting a highly decorative carved crest with feather plume motifs parcel gilt over a lovely green painted carved gesso on wood frame. The back and seat are later upholstered in an appealing cream, peach, and purple striped design. Arms are nicely curved and scrolled, leading to gilt feather or leaf motifs on the supports. The seat front sports a subtly bowfront profile, raised over straight tapered legs with tulip knees and fluted columns. Condition There is a small old repair made with metal to the frame and some gesso and panted finish worn. Purportedly reupholstered around 15 years ago. Heavy finish wear but presents well overall.
