Beautiful late 19th century continental arm chair. It features carved, scrolled, down swept arms ending in carved rosette/patarea terminals. Turned and carved front legs ending in claw-and-ball or paw feet. An elaborately pierced and carved scrolling stretcher connecting the legs — a hallmark of this revival style. It is upholstered with a hand-stitched needlepoint tapestry depicting a phoenix and large scale florals. Brass nailhead trim outlines the upholstery panels.
