English Georgian Period Mahogany Chippendale Armchair with Slip Seat. Seat upholstered in Ralph Lauren vintage 1980's Luke Stripe (Boaters Bay stripe LCF 64762F). With carved shaped central splat, H stretcher, slip seat (fabric and upholstery is new), square legs. The central splat is a graceful interlocking of curving carved elements. Circa third quarter 19th cent. Chair was used in an advertisement, see picture above.
