This armchair was inspired by the Hans Wegner’s original design. The armchair is in good used condition. Hans J. Wegner's 1951 Papa Bear Chair was the first of his designs to be produced at Danish joinery workshop PP Møbler: the start of a long collaboration between the two. The humble teddy bear is symbolic of comfort and relaxation, and the name of the Papa Bear Chair comes from its playful design. The arm rests, with their paw-like solid wood detailing at each ends, were designed to resemble the arms of a bear, which envelop and hug the person that is seated from either side.
