A beautifully crafted example of Danish modern design, this Model 317 armchair was designed by the celebrated duo Peter Hvidt & Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen and produced by Søborg Møbelfabrik in Denmark. Executed in warm solid teak, the chair pairs a gently sculpted, shield-shaped plywood backrest with softly flared armrests and a hand-woven papercord seat — a composition that reads as both organic and architectural, and remains as comfortable as it is elegant. The slender, stretchered legs give the piece a light, refined stance typical of the partnership's best work.
