Danish Model 118 Armchair By Grete Jalk For France & Søn / France & Daverkosen, 1960s

Chairish

$2,603

An elegant Danish teak armchair from the 1960s, an expression of Grete Jalk's organic modernism, with an original structure and refined proportions. The iconic "118" armchair, designed by Grete Jalk for France & Daverkosen, Denmark, in the 1960s. The teak structure, with its fluid and balanced lines, reflects the designer's approach, which focused on the dialogue between ergonomics and visual lightness. Grete Jalk, one of the few prominent female figures in postwar Danish design, collaborated with France & Daverkosen on the creation of high-quality furniture, always recognizable for its elegance and formal rigor. The seat and backrest retain their original structure; the cushions have been redone and reupholstered in a very light beige fabric, reflecting the character of the period. In good condition. May show signs of wear. Please refer to the photographs carefully.
