Danish Modern Armchair IW2 in Oak by Illum Wikkelsø, 1960s. Danish Mid-Century modern oak chair designed by Danish architect Kristian Illum Wikkelsø and manufactured by master carpenter Niels Eilersen, Denmark. Beautiful design with the iconic armrests that stretches from the seat in a wide curve. Shaped seat in thick oak plywood, legs and back in solid oak. Nice and warm patina. This chair is more common as a rocking chair, a lot fewer was made with four legs like this one. In Denmark this chair was very popular as a nursing chair, or as a stylish accent chair. Very good original condition with only light patina consistent with age and use. Leg joints are firm. Ready for use.
