This is a vintage Charles Eames for Herman Miller, Model DAT1, fiberglass shell rolling armchair. This wonderful survivor is marked with the Herman Miller logo and name embossed on the underside. It is also stamped 'Summit Prime' which dates this chair to 1959-62. It also has the circled 'S' embossing. We believe the color of the chair is called 'Griege' one of the three early colors offered. Despite its age and utilitarian use, this chair is in very good condition. There is typical usage wear and patina, but the edges of the shell are in great condition with no significant chips and only minor wear. The tilt and height mechanisms work fine, and the wheels roll as they should. At a standard height setting, this chair measures about 33"h x 23"d x 24"w.
