A unique pair of Swedish late 19th century/early 20th century carved birch armchairs, in the Biedermeier style hence the beautiful blonde wood frames with Neoclassical profile and saber legs that fit with nearly all traditional to contemporary decorating tastes. The upper handrails are meticulously carved with a highly technical twisted effect flanked by turned rings as the only decorative flourish on the otherwise restrained yet elegant design. Currently the seats are upholstered in a very worn, satin material of alternating stripes in sage-green and ivory which complements the luminous frame.
