The Fauteuil de Salon from Vitra is a true mainstay, continuing to arrest visually through its sweeping contours and comfort with ample support since its inception in 1939. Creator Jean Prouve’s work finds a beautiful balance between his metalworking, design, and architectural background. Bent steel legs create a dramatic stance out of sharp triangles. Steel rods flow from them to create a seamless armrest and front leg combo. Low-profile wood bars lay on the armrests with beautiful grain accents. The back and seatrest nestles inside as smooth, tapered forms. Their cushions and fine upholstery combine for a blissful state while lounging.
