Italian Liberty Armchair, 1920s

Chairish

$2,927

An elegant Italian Art Nouveau armchair from the early 20th century, crafted from oak, featuring a harmonious structure and fluid design. The continuous, enveloping line of the armrests integrates perfectly with the front legs, creating a sinuous line typical of the Art Nouveau style. The backrest features an intricate design, with shaped elements and subtle carvings that visually lighten the structure. The oak, with its warm, even grain, lends solidity and a material presence, while the patina testifies to its authenticity. The seat and backrest have been upholstered, maintaining comfort and functionality without compromising the piece's aesthetic balance. Due to its stylistic characteristics and quality of execution, the armchair can be traced back to the Milanese area and the production of Eugenio Quarti. In good overall condition, restored with a patina; later upholstery. An armchair that combines quality construction and formal refinement: the fluid lines and attribution to the Quarti area make it an interesting piece for those seeking authenticity and style. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
