This authentic art nouveau armchair was designed by the famous german artist, painter, graphic artist, architect and designer johann heinrich vogeler and was manufactured around 1910 in the worpswede artists' colony near bremen, germany which he co-founded. His home, the barkenhoff, became the center of the artistic movement in the early 1900s. the impressive chair is made from stained oak in a blackish brown tone. It features the original woven rush seat. The backrest is decorated with beautiful carved floral motifs. it is monogrammed on the back with: 'h. V. W.' for heinrich vogeler, worpswede. A second identical armchair is available separately. This piece has an attribution mark, i am sure that it is completely authentic and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
