A fine Italian neoclassical fauteuil in the Louis XVI taste, circa 1780–1800, likely Roman or North Italian. Carved beechwood frame retains its original celadon blue painted finish with parcel gilding throughout. Features a carved foliate crest, volute-scroll arm supports, rosette-carved seat rail, and tapered fluted legs with gilt toupie feet. Upholstered in blue and champagne striped silk.
