A very unusual, asymmetrical, eccentric American Rococo chair with catywampus scrollwork. The scrolls are hand carved with detail and come together to form the back. The top portion of the back's hand rail is made of sturdy layered pieces of wood like plywood in the manner of the 19th century American Rococo furniture maker John Henry Belter. No label or mark is found on this piece.
