A pair of French style carved wood and upholstered bergères chairs. This vintage pair of armchairs each feature rounded upholstered backs within a wood frame with nicely carved and accentuated top rail, along with ribbon and petite carved bead trim. Acanthus leaf accents wrap the knuckles and each front side posts, just above the legs. There are manchette padded arms with carved curled knuckles. The seat and front rail are curvy, with a soft bow shaped front, carved with the same spiraled carved ribbon decor, and rosettes at the knees. The chairs are raised upon cylindrical fluted legs which taper gently towards their peg feet. The backs, seats, and arm pads are all upholstered in an older zebra print (which we recommend replacing). The wood on this pair of French style armchairs has a wash of off-white coloring, with wood showing throughout in various areas.
