Pair of elegant French Directoire style armchairs made of solid cherry. The lines, straight in the front view, give the armchairs an unmistakable and almost modern character. The slightly tapered front legs serve as support posts for the rounded armrests. The rear legs are slightly flared and form the outer frame sections of the upholstered backrest at the top. Subtle carvings can be found at the lower ends of the front legs, the front sections of the armrests and above the connection of the armrests to the backrest. Good condition with wonderful patina. The armchairs are stable and suitable for everyday use. Reupholstered in recent years; upholstery fabric in very good condition.
