Finely handcrafted in luxurious highly sophisticated Louis 16th style, the design after legendary Parisian master menuisier and French royal cabinetmaker, Georges Jacob, featuring an elaborately carved stylized acanthus leaf fiolate adorned solid wood frame, the backrest is crowned with finials surmounted by carved openwork floral laurel leaf wreath crest, accented with rosette medallions, beaded trim ornamentation, nicely shaped open arms, all brilliantly gilded gold, in an antiqued distressed lightly patinated finish. Having a comfortable upholstered backrest and seat with high quality cushion, wrapped in rich deep burgundy - dark red wine tone leather. Signed to verso, retaining original gilt metal plaque label.
