Growing up in an Eurasian family opened a window to Euro/Chinese furnishings and Bentwood style pieces were very popular. Perhaps it was the air of lightness that imbues the design and the cane that was more desirable in the hot summer months. This is a pair of Bentwood chairs (maker's label has fallen and lost.) Both chairs are very similar in style to Thonet's Le Corbusier chair design made by Ligna. They were found in an antique shop in Ghirardelli Square in San Francisco in the 1970's.
