Mid-Century Model Bonanza Highback Leather Lounge Armchair By Esko Pajamies For Asko, Finland, 1960s

Large Bonanza armchair from the Finnish manufacturer Asko based on a design by Esko Pajamies from the 1960s. Here in a rare version as a high-back chair with black leather. A functional design with a complex construction and special comfort. The chair's solid oak frame is characterized by penetrations and elaborate wooden connections. The side arches of the armrests form the feet at the bottom. The seat and backrest are inserted upright into the arches of the armrests. This complex construction gives the chair a special stability and comfort. It also has a major influence on the shape of the design. The black leather upholstery is in three parts and loosely inserted into the frame. The upper cushion is fixed to the backrest with Velcro. The large, round buttons that structure the upholstered surfaces are striking. The armchair is in very good condition and has hardly any signs of wear and patina.
