This pair of Authentic Antique Chinese High Back Arm Chairs feature the typically simple yet elegant Ming style. The chairs are made with the core of Northern Elm Wood, which was carefully selected and properly aged for years. The beautiful wood grain of these chairs shows the quality of the wood. The chairs are handcrafted and structured with wooden pegs and tenon structure, which is the very traditional craftsmanship for furniture making in ancient China. (No Nails were used.). Carving of Chinese calligraphy of "fortune" decorate the back splat of the chairs. Both arms and the back splat of the chairs are crafted with deep curves. The front openings underneath the seats are uniquely crafted into "Arch" shape. The aging and wear of the wood make the surface of these chairs as smooth as silk. Natural wood color. The chairs are very solid and has been kept in excellent condition. Original patina and wear. Circa early of 19th century.
