A Very Rare Pair of Carved Mahogany French Empire Fauteuil Arm Chairs attributed to Jacob Freres, Circa 1800 Very nice carved Egyptian figural arms, with carved claw feet, Attributed to the Jacob Freres workshop, Paris, France. Circa 1800-1805. The work of the Freres worksop is in the collections at Chateau de Versailles. Josephine, the wife of Napoleon Bonaparte was a regular client of the Freres workshop as well. Carved Mahogany, with mahogany veneers. Beech or fruitwood secondary wood. More pictures available upon request. Size: 25" wide, 22" deep, 36" tall. Seat height is 15" on the orange upholstered chair, and 16" on the yellow upholstered chair. Condition: Frames are in very good solid condition, Chairs will need to be reupholstered. typical use and wear marks associated with age. One small piece of mahogany trim moulding missing on the back top splat/stile junction.
