Pair of Academic Revival Chippendale solid mahogany arm chairs with exceptional pierced and carved ladder back rails. The over rail upholstered saddle seat is supported by molding carved square legs which are joined by an “H” stretcher. The shaped elbow rests, with scrolled knuckle arm terminals, are supported by a sloping arm brackets, morticed into the seat side rails. American, Academic Revival, 1930-40.
