Sublime pair of mid-century modern French Maison Jean Royere style gilt iron Crosillion lounge chairs or armchairs. The iconic chairs feature large iron frames decorated with lattices on the back and arms. The whimsical criss-cross lattices are crafted from wavy metal tube. The generous seats have been newly upholstered in a stylish white Bouclé fabric with gracefully curved arms measuring 24 inches high. The chairs have been refinished having an opulent satin gilt metal finish. The frames are heavy and strong with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. The seats are supported by straight round legs ending with round ball finial feet. Similar chairs have been produced by several French Maison ateliers and also by Milling Road from Baker in the 1990's. Iconic French profile and dramatic scale. Sold as a pair.
