Fine pair of British Regency chairs with caned seats; the turned back has a turned crest rail; the centre oval tablet on the back is decorated. With a shell and foliate scroll, supported and joined with a pair of "C" scrolls. Four saber legs complete the design. Excellent all original condition; the caned seats have been redone at some point, circa 1810. There are an additional identical two pairs of these chairs in comparable condition available to make a set of six if desired. (See image). Dimensions: (each chair) 21 7/8" wide x 23" deep x 32 3/4" high. Seat height 16 1/2". Provenance: Devenish and Company (Tom Devenish Collection).
