Striking pair of vintage Spanish Brutalist slug-leather chairs. These heavy, masculine accent chairs perfectly capture the raw, rustic architecture of mid-century Iberian design. They make excellent statement pieces for a living room, den, office, or a minimalist sapce. Design & Construction Details: Frame - Solid, dark-stained hardwood (likely oak or walnut) with a beautiful deep patina. Features structural H-stretchers and an understated scalloped front apron. Seating - Thick, high-gauge black saddle leather slung across the backrest and seat. the leather is anchored entirely by oversized decorative metal tacks (clavos) along the frame. Condition - Good vintage condition. the wood is structurally sound and free of wobbles. The heavy leather has a beautiful worn-in character with surface creases and patina consistent with leather of this age, but remains strong, taught, and supportive. There is a tear on the backrest of one chair, and surface scuffs along seating edges. One seat has a transparent white patterned marking that appears to be a transfer marking. The sling seats are supported upholstery webbing which is sagging, but still in good condition. Branding: No maker's marks are present; beautiful examples crafted in the timeless style of mid-century Spanish Brutalism. Dimensions: Overall Dimensions: 33"H x 20"W x 21"D Seat Height: 15" Seat Depth: 18.25" Available for local pickup in Chicago, IL.
