This is an absolutely stunning fully restored regency chesterfield library armchair in hand dyed cigar brown leather, complete with original mahogany & brass reading slope. A very good looking and classily designed regency piece, this chair has the look of the early gillows chairs, if you google regency gillows armchair you will see what i mean. The look and feel is absolutely timeless, this chair looks wonderful in any setting. The front line of timber is very sculptural and flows effortlessly, i think its early cuban mahogany based on the patina, which was used by gillow's, the legs are very ornate and hand carved from single pieces of wood. This is the only one of its type i have ever seen with the reading slope still in place, it is a work of art and would cost an absolute fortune to have made today. the chair has been fully restored to include being hand dyed this lovely deep cigar brown colour, the hide has natural imperfections and marks from honest use and fair ware dimensions height:- 103.5cm width:- 75cm depth:- 77cm please note all measurements are taken at the widest point. this piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
