Set Of Lcm Chairs By Charles And Ray Eames For Herman Miller, 1950s

Chairish

$3,524

Set of very early lcm armchairs made of bent walnut plywood with a chromed metal frame, designed by charles and ray eames for herman miller in 1946. This is a very early version (2nd generation) from c. 1954. This can be seen by the boat glides as legs, slightly different shock mounts and a frame made of solid steel (later versions are made of hollow tube). The eames lcm, lounge height (l) side chair (c) on metal legs (m)) is a true design classic, revolutionary for its time, both in form and construction. Material: iron chrome-plated and bent walnut plywood. Dimensions: h x w x d = 67 x 55 x 61 cm with a seat height of 39 cm. Marked lcm (see photos). Source: book herman miller collection 1952 and book charles and ray eames, objects and furniture design. Nice detail: these chairs originally came from the inventory of the us company federal mogul (see photo with federal mogul logo). A rare early set that you don’t come across very often. This piece has an attribution mark, i am sure that it is completely authentic and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
